Join Warrane Community Garden volunteer and horticulturist Sam at this Skill Share session on how to make your own seed‑raising mix.

Sam will walk you through the ingredients, the method, and— importantly—the why: why a homemade mix can give your seedlings a stronger start, save money, and be tailored to your required conditions. If you’ve ever wondered what goes into a good seed mix or how to improve your germination rates, this is a great chance to learn from someone who does it every season.

The workshop will run for 30 minutes, depending on questions from attendees, and is perfect for beginners, home gardeners, and anyone curious about growing from seed with confidence. You will leave with practical knowledge you can use immediately in your own garden beds and propagation trays.

This is a free workshop by Warrane Mornington Neighbourhood Centre & Warrane Community Garden.

Optional Donation
All donations received (minus platform fees) support projects at the Warrane Community Garden. Donations are not required – but we offer the option as we are regularly asked at our workshops how to donate
