Permablitz
Permablitz Tasmania is a state-wide initiative by Permaculture Tasmania featuring volunteers – transforming one household and community at a time!
What is a Permablitz (noun)?: An informal gathering involving a day on which a group of at least two people come together to achieve the following:
- create or add to edible gardens
- share skills related to permaculture and sustainable living
- build community and have fun!
To be defined as a permablitz each event must be underpinned by a permaculture design by someone with a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) – the most basic permaculture qualification. Fortunately, Permaculture Tasmania has a variety of PDC (and above) trained folks available to assist with Permablitzes – get in touch!
The network runs on reciprocity, and in order to qualify for a Permablitz at your place you usually need to come to at least two first – otherwise return the favour to at least two Permablitzes after your house – and be a current financial member of Permaculture Tasmania (membership is $20/year)
Permablitzes are free public events, with free workshops and shared food, where you get some exercise and have a good time meeting likeminded people. All costs of materials are covered by the host, although a call out for free recycled materials can be conducted.
